June 2022 In Review
June saw some big accomplishments for the Subsocial team. Here we are going to review topics such as Sub.ID improvements, a project integration, participating in the Polkadot North America Hackathon and Polkadot Decoded. Let’s dive in.
Web App Improvements
At the beginning of June, we released a long-awaited update to the text editor on our website, making it more modern. Users now longer need to use markdown formatting (if you prefer to still use markdown, I recommend using StackEdit and copying the final result over to our text editor).
Additionally, we improved the speed at which users can post. Now, simply click the “New post” button on the homepage, and a text box will pop up. You can easily select which space you want to post in, and attach a cover image. If you need formatting options, you can easily switch to the full editor (anything you have already typed will be transferred).

Complete Subsocial Website Overhaul
The main Subsocial website was completely redone. It now explains the Subsocial project more effectively and has space to show off dapps built on the network.

Polkadot North America Hackathon
The Subsocial team decided to join the North America hackathon by providing some challenges with prizes and sending our founder, Alex Siman, as a judge. You can read all about it here, and watch the replay of our mentorship session from June 21st hosted by Tushar Ojha, our Developer Experience specialist.
Multiple teams joined and have been building, so we are very excited to see what they have created when the hackathon ends on the 11th.
Sub.ID Features
Sub.ID got 2 updates in June, back to back!
On the 22nd we announced the new Interesting Accounts page where you can see various councilors and validators from the ecosystem, as well as big crowdloaners. We are working on being able to favorite other accounts and add them to a saved list.
On the 23rd we added multi-wallet support to Sub.ID, allowing users to connect with Talisman and SubWallet, in addition to Polkadot.js.
Polkadot Decoded
Subsocial was at Polkadot Decoded in both Berlin and Buenos Aires.
Our founder, Alex Siman, and Product Marketer, Denis Igin, were both in Berlin networking with other teams, while out Content Lead & Community Manager, Yung Beef, was in Buenos Aires presenting on stage about how Subsocial fixes the problems of Web2 social networks by utilizing open social graphs. The presentation was recorded but the recording is not available yet; we will share it when it is released.
Following Decoded, Yung Beef went to the “Kaos in BA” event in Buenos Aires hosted by some awesome Polkadot ambassadors and spoke on stage as part of a panel. That recording is also not available yet and we will share it when we can.
The team had a great time and met a lot of people, and we were really surprised at how many community members really love Subsocial. Thank you all for your support, we are working hard for you!
